Dr. Blanchard received a BS degree in chemistry in 1977, a PhD in Biochemistry in 1982, and an MD in 1985 from Indiana University. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine, and fellowships in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the Dana Farber Cancer Center, and Harvard Medical School in 1990. Dr. Blanchard was a Damon Runyon Fellow and a Fellow of the American Cancer Society, while at Harvard Medical School. Prior to coming to Eli Lilly and Company in 2000, he was a tenured Professor of Medicine and Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA. He is currently Executive Director of Discovery Biology Research and Lilly Systems Biology—Singapore, Eli Lilly and Company.
Dr. Blanchard is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research, the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Society of Microbiology.
